For coaches

Coach your clients inside the plan they actually use.

Your clients plan their goals and habits in Goaltree. Invite them from your coaching dashboard, or let them invite you. Then shape that plan directly, see how their week really went and leave notes they read on Today. Ticking things off stays their job.

Coaching starts with an invite link, from you or from your client.

01 / How it works

Invite them. Shape the plan. They do the work.

  1. 01

    You invite your client

From your coaching dashboard, create an invite link and send it however you usually talk. It works once and expires after 7 days. Clients can also invite you from Settings → My coach in their Goaltree.

  2. 02

    They choose what you see

Your client opens the link, picks all their goals or just some, decides whether you see habits and check-ins, and accepts. If they invited you instead, you see exactly what they’ve shared before you say yes.

  3. 03

    You edit their plan

Add milestones, rework tasks, move deadlines and adjust habits in the same goal editor they use. Each change carries an “Edited by your coach” tag, and they get one quiet in-app notice instead of a ping for every edit.

  4. 04

    They do the work

Only your client can tick off tasks and check in habits, so every number on your dashboard is something they actually did.

02 / Dashboard

See who needs you before the session starts.

The coaching dashboard lists every client with this week’s numbers: days checked in, habits hit, tasks done and their current streak. Anyone slipping or stalled rises to the top, so you know where to spend your time.

  • Slipping: habits missed on their last two due days.
  • Stalled: no progress on the plan in seven days.
  • Open a client to see their goals, the week in detail and your notes.
  • Anything they chose not to share is marked “Not shared”.
Coaching mode

One account, two sides.

Coach your clients and keep working on your own goals, all from one account. Switch between coaching and personal in one tap. In coaching mode the app turns green, so you always know which side you’re on.

03 / Notes

Notes that sit right next to the goal.

Keep a thread for each goal, plus one for the week as a whole. Pin a note as this week’s focus and it appears at the top of your client’s Today, where they can reply in a couple of taps.

  • One pinned focus at a time, so the priority is never in doubt.
  • Their replies reach you as an in-app notice.
04 / Assistant

Walk into every session prepared.

Before you talk, the Assistant reads your client’s week and writes you a short brief. It can also draft your next note and suggest small changes to their plan. You decide what gets sent and what changes.

  • Session brief: wins, what slipped and the pattern behind it, stalled goals, their latest replies and a few talking points.
  • Drafts for a weekly focus, a reply or some encouragement land in your composer, ready for you to edit.
  • Plan tweaks arrive as a checklist. Only the ones you tick are applied, and they show as your edits.
  • It only sees what your client shares with you, and it never messages them.
05 / Connector

Coach from Claude or ChatGPT

Connect Goaltree to your assistant and manage your clients’ shared plans in plain English: list clients, read a plan, then add, rename or remove tasks.

  • Works within the permissions your client granted.
  • Every change is marked and summarized for your client.
  • You never complete tasks for them.
See the connector docs
06 / Boundaries

Built so your client can say yes.

  • You can’t tick for them

Coaches can change the plan but can’t complete tasks or check in habits. That’s enforced on our servers, not just a hidden button.

  • They choose what you see

All goals or picked ones, habits and streaks, daily check-ins. They can change this at any time and it applies straight away. Their Inbox, journal, private notes, location and billing are never shared.

  • Either side can end it

Either of you can end coaching in one tap, and access stops immediately. The plan, including every change you made, stays with your client.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does my client need a Goaltree account?

Yes. Coaching happens inside their own goals, so they need an account. They can create one when they open your invite link.

Do I need an account too?

Yes, a Goaltree account of your own. Your coaching dashboard lives there, and a switch in the app takes you back to your own goals whenever you like.

Can I use Goaltree for my own goals too?

Yes, with the same account. Your own goals, habits and AI coach live on the personal side, and your clients live on the coaching side. Switch between them any time. You can even have a coach of your own.

Who sends the invite, me or my client?

Either of you. Invite a client from your coaching dashboard, or they can invite you from Settings → My coach. Either way, your client chooses what you can see before coaching starts.

What can I see?

The goals your client shares with you: either all of them, including ones they add later, or the ones they pick, with the full plans and your notes. If they allow it, you also see their habits, streak and which days they checked in. You never see their Inbox, journal, private notes, location or billing.

Does the AI see my client’s private data?

No. The Assistant only uses what your client shares with you: the goals, habits and check-ins they chose. It never sees their Inbox, journal, private notes, location, billing or chats with their AI coach. It never messages your client, and nothing in their plan changes unless you approve it.

Can I coach several people?

Yes. Send each client their own invite, and everyone appears on one dashboard, sorted by who needs attention. Each client works with one coach at a time.

What happens when coaching ends?

Either of you can end it at any time, and your access stops right away. Your client keeps their plan, including the changes you made, and the other person gets a notice in the app.

The invite link doesn’t work. What now?

Invite links work once and expire after 7 days. Create a fresh one from your coaching dashboard. If the link came from your client, ask them for a new one from Settings → My coach.

Can I manage clients from Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Connect Goaltree to Claude or ChatGPT (see the connector page) and you can list your clients, read their shared plans and add, rename or remove tasks, within the permissions each client granted. Edits show “Edited by Coach …” and your client gets a change summary, the same as edits in the app. Coaches can’t tick off tasks for clients.
