Pomodoro planner that turns your tasks into a week of sessions

A Pomodoro timer tells you when to take a break. It doesn’t tell you what to work on. Goaltree’s Pomodoro playbook does: your coach estimates how many 25-minute sessions each task needs and lays them out as a day-by-day plan for the week.

01 / What it is

Francesco Cirillo created the Pomodoro Technique in the late 1980s and named it after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used as a student. You work in 25-minute sessions called pomodoros, each followed by a 5-minute break, and take a longer break after four.

Short sessions make it easier to start, and counting them shows how long your work really takes.

When to use it

  • Big tasks feel too heavy to start
  • You lose hours switching between things
  • You never know how long a task will actually take

How to do it

  1. 01 Pick one task Decide what you’re working on before the timer starts.
  2. 02 Work for 25 minutes No email, no chat, no other tabs. If something comes up, write it down and keep going.
  3. 03 Take a 5-minute break Stand up and step away. After four pomodoros, take 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. 04 Count and adjust Note how many pomodoros each task took and use that to plan the next ones.
02 / Other apps explain it. Goaltree applies it.

How Goaltree applies it

Apply the playbook to a goal and the coach reads its open tasks, estimates how many pomodoros each one needs and groups them into a schedule for this week that you can follow as written.

What your coach does

  • Estimates how many 25-minute pomodoros each open task needs
  • Groups them by day, for example “Monday: 2 pomodoros on the signup bug, then 1 on the landing page”
  • Gives you a ready-to-follow plan, not a blank timer

In the app: Explore → Playbooks → pick a goal.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is this a Pomodoro timer?

No. It plans the sessions: which tasks, how many pomodoros each and on which day. Use any timer you like to run them.

Why 25 minutes?

It’s long enough to make real progress and short enough that starting feels easy. Cirillo’s original method uses 25 minutes of work and a 5-minute break, and the plan is built around that.

What if a task needs more than one session?

That’s normal. The coach estimates the pomodoros for each task, so a hard task might get three sessions on one day and a quick one just one.
