About Goaltree

Goaltree is a habit tracker and AI goal planner. Tell it what you want and AI breaks it into milestones, daily tasks and habits, then a coach with a voice, a face and a personality keeps you on track. It runs on web, iPhone and Android in six languages.

Goaltree is one TypeScript monorepo: a realtime Convex backend, a React web app, an Expo app for iPhone and Android, an Astro marketing site and Cloudflare Workers at the edge. Most features touch all of them.

You'll work on the core of the product: goal plans and how they replan, the Today list, habits and streaks, number habits, groves (small accountability groups), notifications, and the coach's tools that change a user's plan for them.

What you'll do

• Design Convex schemas, queries, mutations and actions that stay fast as data grows, with indexes, pagination and sensible limits.
• Ship the same feature on web (Vite, TanStack Router, Tailwind) and native (Expo, React Native, Tailwind via uniwind), sharing logic where it makes sense.
• Build offline-friendly, optimistic UIs: tick a habit on a train and it just works.
• Wire up the plumbing: auth (better-auth), payments (Polar on web, RevenueCat on mobile), push notifications, Google Calendar sync and our MCP server.
• Keep the codebase healthy: tests with Vitest and convex-test, lint and format with oxlint and oxfmt, typed end to end.
• Run what you ship: watch errors in Sentry and usage in PostHog, and fix what users hit.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years building production web apps in TypeScript and React.
• Comfortable owning backend and frontend; you think about data models and loading states with the same care.
• Experience with a realtime or reactive backend (Convex, Firebase, Supabase or similar) and with serverless or edge deployments.
• Product sense: you notice when something feels slow, confusing or off, and fix it without being asked.
• Clear written communication in English.

Nice to have

• React Native / Expo apps in the App Store or Google Play.
• Cloudflare Workers, Astro, or infrastructure as code (we use Alchemy).
• i18n at scale, accessibility, or offline-first sync.

• Small team, big surface area. You will own whole features end to end: idea, design, build, ship, measure.
